Rethinking Iron Deficiency

Most of us were trained to treat disease states, not to screen for the quiet depletion that precedes one.

Non-anemic iron deficiency (low ferritin) rarely shows up on a standard lab panel, so unless ferritin is specifically ordered, it’s easy to miss, even in patients with real, disabling symptoms.

Guidelines are shifting for good reason: the ferritin level where patients actually feel better is often well above a lab’s “normal” cutoff.

We’d love to be a resource, for your referrals, or simply as support as you help your patients feel like themselves again.

If you donโ€™t know the specifics of how to order an iron infusion, weโ€™ve got you covered. Hop on a call or submit/fax over a referral form and we will take care of the rest.

Every infusion at The Fern is ordered by a licensed physician or NP and administered by a registered nurse. We have a crash cart, emergency protocols, and anaphylaxis response capability on site.

We have special protocols for sensitive/MCAS patients.

Same-week appointments.

We will treat your patient ASAP.

Clinical notes back after every visit.

After every infusion, if youโ€™d like, we send a visit summary to your office โ€” IV product administered, dose, patient tolerance, vital signs, any reactions, and next steps.

No insurance prior authorization required.

We are a private-pay practice. There are no prior authorization requests, no denials because your patient’s hemoglobin isn’t low enough, no appeals.
